  • We work on the development of new and optimized molecular biology reactions to enhance the sensitivity, specificity and user experience of our testing platforms.

  • That is why we innovate from sample preparation (creating lysis solutions for diverse samples), through the enrichment or amplification of the target, to the improvement of the biological systems of information disclosure.

  • Our current developments focus on isothermal amplification systems and CRISPR detection, maximizing their potential so that they can be carried out with high precision in very low-cost and portable devices, avoiding the need for complex laboratory instruments.

  • In addition, we explore new synthetic biology systems for all stages of the process in order to achieve a unique and scalable technology for multiple applications in many different types of industries.

  • We are creating new proteins that maximize the their natural efficiency. Such proteins will revolutionize our enzymatic diagnostic platform, eliminating the need for additional molecular reactions and allowing their use at room temperature.

  • How do we do this?

  • 1) Using large protein and enzyme databases, we train Artificial Intelligence models to infer the principles governing protein structure and function, and generate valuable new patterns from there on.

    2) We use deep learning models to predict the 3D structure of the protein, providing information about its potential usability and viability.

    3) We select our protein candidates, which are expressed and functionally validated in vitro in our laboratories.

  • At Limay Biosciences we create smart, portable and affordable microdevices to revolutionize different industries. Our devices feature a high-precision temperature control system that enable the amplification of nucleic acids anywhere using isothermal amplification techniques. This enables fast and cost-effective analysis in a wide variety of medical fields. In addition, we have miniaturized fluorescence readers and unique algorithms that automatically analyze samples.

  • One of our other innovations is the disposable microfluidic cartridges with integrated processing. Our devices read and analyze the optical signals from these cartridges using Artificial Intelligence and computer vision.

    Our 200 square meter laboratory in Buenos Aires biotechnological hub is equipped with advanced technology. This space is organized in specialized independent areas with proper layout to make them suitable for our research in molecular biology, protein engineering and microfluidics.

    Additionally, we have a microengineering area and a section for designing, prototyping, developing, and 3D printing our portable devices.
